UNSEEN x 6AM Presents: Electronic Music Production Workshop Hosted by UNSEEN in collaboration with 6AM, this session explores the creative and technical processes behind modern electronic music—from sound design and arrangement to workflow, mixing techniques, and artistic development. Participants will engage directly with industry professionals, gaining practical insights, creative tools, and feedback in an intimate, collaborative environment. The workshop aims to foster community, experimentation, and the growth of Denver’s electronic music ecosystem. -------------------------------------------- WORKSHOP BREAKDOWN Modular Synthesis by Craig Heneveld - A practical walkthrough of how to think about modular as an instrument for techno. We’ll cover the foundations of a basic modular voice, how oscillators, filters, envelopes, VCAs and sequencing interlock for groove, and simple patch expansions like FM, ring modulation, noise, and wavefolding to introduce movement. The approach is hands on, focusing on repeatable patch ideas you can take home and extend. The goal is to demystify modular for newer users and offer efficient workflows for building patches with intention. Body Harmonics by FCKDSKO - Body harmonics is a demonstration of how you can turn human biosignals into music. The circuitry used in the device is the same used in a lie detector. It's called a psychogalvanometer and it detects how easily electricity passes through the skin, which increases with perspiration. This detection is turned into digital commands by the device, called MIDI, which are basically small electrical currents that command a synthesizer to do things, most commonly play notes. We will use those commands in real time to compose music off of the participant's biology. FCKDSKO will accompany the generation and try and tame in into something musical. It's pretty random based on participants' state of mind and body, so who knows what kind of music we will make. The presentation will start with me explaining the technology and process that the music is generated by, explaining the various synths I am using, as well as the device itself. I will then demonstrate on myself, followed by volunteers. I will try and create different stimuli to see how Ableton Fundamentals by Jason Timothy Jason Timothy is a professional Ableton coach with 30 years of experience helping producers like you create better music faster.
