Woven Words
Plaɘ × Tomorrow’s Monday Records present an intimate poetry and spoken word open mic evening and dancefloor hosted at Badassery.
Thursday 9 July · 8pm till 2am
How the night moves:
8:00 – 10:30 · The Listening Lounge
As you arrive, Lapis presents a scent bar to slow you down and drop you into the space. Leave a thought in the communal archive on your way in.
Downstairs, ambient and downtempo sound from Markov invites the body to remember before the mind. A space for deep listening and conversation.
From 8:00 to 9:00, a crochet workshop opens the evening: sit, make something, meet people, no experience needed.
This is also where the anonymous open mic opens. A lit curtain, a silhouette, no faces. Step behind it whenever you feel it and add your voice through poetry, song, story, reflection or silence. Your own words, or read from what is left out.
10:30 – 12:00 · The Bridge
SHMIKESSS × Lillow carry the room from ambient into bass. The open mic stays open. Behind the curtain, participants become players and identity gives way to expression.
12:00 – 2:00 · The Floor
Party Smith closes the mic and opens the floor, carrying the room from the Listening Lounge into full movement.
Upstairs: World Cup on the big screen if you want to catch the game.
Everyone is invited to contribute to the living tapestry of the evening.
