(Inter)ruptoFest _ The name evokes rupture and interruption, but it also suggests interruption as language, creative interstice, and sonic interval—a space where listening becomes active, uncomfortable, alive. A festival that disrupts the dominant narratives in music and performance culture, to open space for the new, the marginal (=for musical arts not always crystallized by normativity), the oscillating. A festival-laboratory, a space-time dedicated to the exploration of sound and performance as an act of aesthetic and political rupture. (INTER)RUPTOFEST will be a zone of friction and listening, bringing together musical and performative practices that disrupt hegemonic flows, whether through form, language, presence, silence, or improvisation, serving as a means of empowering those who live in these types of environments.
