Amsterdam Techno Sessions w/ Mythikas & Marco Ramos

Tonight! Thursday 25th of July 2024, we are back to John Doe for our weekly Techno rendezvous. And for this one, we invited the Amsterdam-based Techno duo, Mythikas, to headline the night. Followed by Marco Ramos. Join us at John Doe from 23:00 until 04:00. Tickets are now available. Mythikas consists of DJs and producers Nikola Pozderovic and Bart van der Ham. Nikola and Bart have been friends since 2006, as they went to the same high school in Arnhem, and have been comrades ever since. Their friendship got reinforced by a passion for music, leading inevitably to the creation of Mythikas, their moniker for creating, releasing and playing electronic music. Since 2012, Nikola and Bart have been actively involved in the electronic music scene. They founded an electronic music platform, published podcasts, wrote about their scene, hosted club nights, and founded their own record label, named Olympus Records. A name inseparably connected to the name Mythikas. Mytikas is the highest point of the Greek mountain Olympus, which has deep roots in Greek mythology. Altogether, Nikola and Bart have been sharing their love for electronic music and actively exercised it for more than 10 years. Music The DJ sound of Mythikas cannot be captured in one word but has techno as its consistent base. Upon that, Mythikas explores and crosses the boundaries of the genre, involving industrial, breakbeat, hiphop, electro and hardcore in their musical signature. DJ-sets by Mythikas can be slow and full of dark atmospheres as well as fast, intense and reaching for the deepest caverns of your soul. The first release by Mythikas, a Various Artists EP called Dawn, was released in 2018 on Olympus Records. In the following years, new records by Mythikas saw the light of day on Olympus Records and other labels like Ōtomo Tracks, Trau-ma and KR Records.
