abt NOEMA / THE MAGIC MOVEMENT:
....Welcome to the world of Europe's underground best kept secret...
Looking back at more then two decades of DJing, Noema is a true master at the decks.
Through his profound selection, mesmerizing dramaturgy and exceptional mixing skills, his sets take the audience to Dionysian highs and places they didn't know they wanted to go to until getting there.
It is impossible to categorize Noema's sound in terms like House, Disco and Techno. Without boarders, Noema creates his very own and truly unique blueprint of contemporary club music:
His eclectic music selection flows freely between all kinds of electronic music from Downbeat to Techno and combines it with Brazilian tunes, Turkish edits, Disco jams, Balearic rides, Indi-Rock, Pop, Jazz and everything he finds worth sharing. Mostly psychedelic and always soulful, sensual, surprising, rich in percussion and ranging from a good old rave to groovy beach vibes, his sets are always different and taylor made for the occasion.
Noema's aim as a DJ is to find the perfect soundtrack for the moment, may it be a dark Berlin basement in winter or a day party at the beach in Mexico. Because of the symbioses of time, space and music that he creates, dancers repeatedly report about blissful and transcendental moments on the dance floor.
Infamous for his all night long and „infinty dance“ sets, Noema regularly plays up to ten hours and more. The dramaturgy of these sets are legendary. As being a truly passionate DJ, if you put him on the decks, he will continue playing unless somebody asks him to stop.
On his regular tours, he plays shows in London, Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, Tulum, Sao Paulo, Paris, Istanbul, Moscow, Ibiza, Mykonos and many more places all around the world.
Through his strong affinity to slow grooves and contemporary electronic music from South America he developed the „Cozmico“ concept, which connects the „new“ downbeat scene around artists like VoodooHop, Nicola Cruz and himself to Cosmic and Afro Style of DJs like Daniele Baldelli and Beppe Loda.
Furthermore, Noema is the co-founder, artistic director and A&R of The Magic Movement label, home of artists like Oceanvs Orientalis, Nicola Cruz, Xique-Xique, Crussen, Dreems, Luca Musto, Yor Kultura etc. Founded in 2013, it was one of the first labels that supported the new downbeat scene. The focus of the label lays on all kinds of percussive and psychedelic dance music. Since the beginning, the label gained great respect in the scene, by paying close attention to every aspect of their releases and delivering the highest quality of music, sound and artworks.
THE FIRST YEARS:
Noema, full name Sa-Ra Noema, was born as the 13th and a half child of a Silesian rocket scientist and a man with only one shoe. As a result of unfortunate circumstances his parents had to send him to rural Mongolia soon after he was born. Once there, he was safely raised at a pet asylum by its founder and his yellow cat. Maybe it was the influence of said cat that resulted in his passion for magic. Besides this and that, Noema spent most of his childhood obsessively listening to his guardians ́ extensive collection of traditional Mongolian dance music. This allowed him to acquire a profound knowledge of the intricate tonal qualities of the Yatga (classical Mongolian Zither) and
of course the Ikh Khuur („Horse-Head“ Bass). But living in a pet asylum in rural Mongolia allows for few surprises, and at an early age Noema felt the need to travel, so he ventured through the land, finally finding himself signing up to work on a boat at Tianjin, China. While sailing around the world, his travels eventually led to Europe, where he first settled in northern Romania. At this time an El Dorado of occult groups, lodges and spiritualist circles, and Noema – having discovered a talent for media, and training himself in graphology, chorology, phrenology, and astrology – began a career as peddler of medicines, a mesmerist, quack, fortuneteller and consultant on “the culture of the body, mind and soul“. At this point in his life he realized that it would be a fantastic idea to found a sect, which he did whilst living in the Carpathian Mountains. There he spent a few joyful years in the gentle embrace of his followers. During this time, he first heard about the 360 Degrees and started to explore its possibilities in bizarre rhythmic exercises. After hearing stories about life in Berlin he understood that this would be the right place to excel to his full capacity of this technique, so he soon left the circle of his now disbanded sect to release the Dionysian spirit on
Indra's houses the Ministry of Sacred Geometry- a church for all people who share a Reverence for Life. We develop sacred technology and invite people to be healed and engage with others to form a mindful society.
