In 2017 Ansley started quietly releasing lo-fi house music mixing elation, nostalgia and melancholy to create something raw in beauty, calming, energizing and uplifting. Residing in the same vein of underground house as Ross From Friends and Baltra while building on the experimental dance music of trailblazers such as Radiohead, Four Tet, Caribou and Jamie XX his music found its own niche taking flight online. With a strong visual presence from his many music videos, poolboi has quickly amassed a large following online landing coveted gigs across North America opening for acts like Ross From Friends, DJ Seinfeld, Park Hye Jin, Chaos In the CBD and more. The artists debut LP “it’s good to hear your voice” came out in March of 2020 on Berlin based tastemaker label Majestic Casual. An official remix for Moby followed with every pressing of the artists material on vinyl to date quickly selling out. Shall Not Fade and a subsequent follow up EP. Showcasing a growth in sound working with featured artists from around the globe the artist has released his highly anticipated sophomore LP “stay just a little while longer” to international acclaim from outlets such as BBC Radio 1, KCRW, Complex and more earlier this year. Doing his first touring internationally in support of the release has seen sold out shows in major markets like Berlin, Paris and more. This fall the artist is releasing his third EP with renowned UK based underground label Shall Not Fade. Bindle) texted a certain Jake Rose to meet up. Josh had hardly slept and Jake was overdue a shower but the two musky dudes set aside their indifferences and decided to do something for a day. Few that knew them would ever think of either Jake or Josh to be capable of anything at all, and when together expectations would sink to a glimmer at the bottom of a murky pond. Yet that glimmer would shine to be gold in a full moon! Bindle brings years of musical indecisiveness to his eclectic and playful sets. He is inspired by everything from Canadian downtempo producers like Khotin, to the ear worm strangeness of Ross From Friends, with his time living in the UK leaving a thirst for off balance and surreal breaks and UKG when the party gets really heaving. Jake has been making music since high school (look up City of Kings from Ohio if you want the flavor) but has since moved into making more danceable electronic music in recent years. His selections incorporate sounds from artists like Confidence Man, DJ Boring, and Black Light Smoke. The Haus Catz sound mainly revolves around a wide-ranging palette of deep and funky bass- heavy grooves, accentuated by breakbeat, lo-fi, left field, and hip-hop sensibilities. As a collective, they have hosted a handful of residencies around Denver and numerous takeovers, including sold out shows and parties with Joseph Capriati, Yotto, and Roy Rosenfeld. Haus Catz have shared the stage with several international heavy hitters, going back 2 back supporting lo-fi house favorites Ross From Friends on their ‘Family Portrait’ live album tour, BBC resident Leon Vynehall on his ‘Rare, Forever’ 2022 album world tour, Aus Music founder Will Saul, and Belgian wildcard Kill_Frenzy. Another recent highlight included a four and a half hour Haus Catz takeover of the Sanctuary Stage at the Reset Campout festival in Northern Colorado, headlined by Truncate, Headless Horseman, DJ Hyperactive, and HOJ. Individually, members have also played alongside an impressive stack of reputable artists including Maya Jane Coles, Dusky, Tokimonsta, Hayden James, Mount Kimbie, TSHA, Rebuke, DJ Boring, George FitzGerald, Overmono, Huxley, Bruno Furlan, DJ Lag, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs & Durante, Romare, Mat.Joe, Jacques Greene, Throwing Snow, Loefah, Bok Bok, Sinjin Hawke & Zora Jones, Gettoblaster, Telepopmusik, Roska, Sinden, and many more. While currently representing Denver, their collective musical roots stretch back to their childhoods of Austin (Tailspin), San Francisco (DJ Purrplexed), and the Caribbean (Pounces). These unique and varied upbringings have had a huge influence on the indie, club, and worldly sounds they love and incorporate into their unique, multi-genre take on underground dance music. Recently, Haus Catz have been working on original productions that encapsulate the sound and spirit of their live performances - fun, soulful, and moody. Their debut “Club Nip, Vol. 1” EP just dropped on their newly founded Catz Trax label in September ’22 with support from Baltra, Sasha, DJ T., Damian Lazarus, and Pete Tong to name a few.
