HDC Presents: TonalTheory

We are INCREDIBLY excited to announce the first event in our monthly series being kicked off by the one-and-only TonalTheory. The renowned DJ and producer duo take on our HDC stage on March 29th, bringing with them their signature high-energy and genre-bending sound. Their modern take fused with a homage to the foundations of the genre has captivated audiences across the country. {Based in Washington, DC, USA, TonalTheory is a self-taught duo producer/DJ who brings their modern take on the fusion of powerful, high-energy techno soundscapes and percussions. With numerous local and international releases, the duo launched their label, Undertone, in 2021. Undertone embodies their signature high-energy techno sound while bending genre boundaries and hopes to serve as a platform for like-minded producers to showcase their artistry. Recent releases from Undertone have generated support from multiple industry-leading producers. Their time in the studio producing cutting-edge and forward-thinking techno has earned them a place in some of the industry's notable labels/catalogs, including You Know Who I Am EP on Das Kollektive, What Were You Thinking? EP on Divine Intervention Records, Confidential Movement EP on Say What? Records. Avoid The Light EP on SINDEX, Obscure Horizon EP on Otomo, and many other single releases on labels such as SUBSTANTIV, T Sessions, GRF Black, Rated Records, and many more. Their work has also been recognized and featured by the Washington Post, EDM Identity, and XTINA, which added to their success as producers on the rise. Performing everywhere from warehouse raves to clubs and festivals, and headlining their shows across North America, Europe, and Asia, their DJ sets are signified by relentless hard-hitting techno that simultaneously takes their listeners on a cathartic journey.} Supported by the incredibly talented ZNL whose toolbox is as diverse as any, and hot off the tail of his set at Elements as well as blowing the speakers at his b2b set with DMV Deep. {ZNL makes genre-diverse dance music for the existential clubgoer. His tracks and DJ sets blur the lines between jersey club, footwork, house, garage, and more. While he's been DJing and producing since he was 13, his time with JMU EDM over the past 3 years saw him making his festival debut at Elements Festival in Pennsylvania while also playing parties and venues in the middle of Virginia. From his recent Studio 96 mix debut to his b2b at a warehouse rave with DMV Deep, he's been making waves in the DMV scene.} This complex and profound blend of sonic hypnosis awaits you.
