House Show 008

The new era begins this Sunday after a quarter year hiatus with a lineup of creatives across distinct disciplines. Upon further inspection, and reflection, one may recognize that these unique forms of expression share more common threads than meet the naked eye. With this renewal it is important to rearticulate the mission of the project: To connect local creatives across any and every style, medium, discipline, level, and identity. To create more overlap in our Zenn diagram. To break down barriers of booking, and amplify the voices and ideas of the underground. There will always be space for new energies within the House Show community. If you are reading this, you can contribute!!! Everyone can create if they have the space and support to do so :)! The line between artist and person is a construct of our culture and conditioning, yet holds no truth. A person is an artist. A space is so simple, but can be so powerful if constructed thoughtfully and purposefully. Hierarchies will erode any community project. Equity and collectivism are philosophies necessary to build meaningful change. Apathy and avoidance of safety will also decay any community project. Safety is the highest priority at all times within the House Show space. Stay tuned to our stories in the coming week for reminders of our systems and policies to build safer spaces.
