Description

"Nô Balur III", our certified series of club nights in Lisbon and the UK, is back for its third edition and 2022’s last party to celebrate the personal and professional achievements of the project’s biggest year yet at the venue that embraced the small community built throughout the past 12 months, Arroz Estúdios. On Friday 16th December from 11pm, get down and go out with a BANG with the sounds of Chimahiro, Didi and Circa Papi, three Lisbon-based DJs navigating through house, afro, electronic, batida and much more, catering the loyal public who have been supporting us since day dot. As always, we have a ✨community guest list ✨ open for those who identify themselves as Black, Mixed Black, Afro-Latinx or African-American, to fulfil our goal of creating safer and intentional spaces across the Diaspora, especially for Black LGBTQ+ people. The guest list closes on Thursday 15th December at 6pm, so make sure to grab an RSVP ticket to be paid in full at the door on the day of the event – community members who fail to show an RSVP ticket on the door will have to pay the full amount. 7€ – community ticket (tier one / online price) 10€ – general ticket (tier two / online price) 15€ – general ticket (tier three / door price) Please note: Arroz Estúdios is a members-only venue, therefore, if you fail to show your 2022 membership card at the entrance, you will have to acquire one for 3€ (cash only). If you attended our previous event in August 2022, you won't be charged again. For updates, make sure you follow us on Instagram at @theblackertheberryproject or Twitter at @tbtbproject. Please, refer to our '2023 safer spaces policy' before buying a ticket or entering our space as this is an event created by a Black queer person, prioritising those of African, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx and African-American backgrounds. 🚨 2023 Safer Spaces Policy "As a collective conducted by and for Black queer, trans and non-binary individuals, we aim to introduce intentional and safer spaces for them to express themselves intersectional between their Blackness and Queerness, which is often overlooked and condition their existence amongst both communities. In August 2021, we introduced a policy that we are now re-introducing an updated version of it, as we continue to believe that instead of forcing our way into places that do NOT acknowledge our experiences and beings, spaces like our should be created, expanded and supported to uplift and highlight our voices and stories, therefore, if you do NOT identify yourself as Black LGBTQ+, please bear in mind any existent privilege and the space you take up, even when supporting us at our events, before attending one. 1) We have a ZERO tolerance policy for any kind of prejudice, harassment and intimidation in our events as well as within the community we are trying to build - this means: no sexism, racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, misgendering and any other sort of prejudice based on religious affiliation. 2) Keep in mind that not everyone might be down to interact with others as people's comfortability vary, so please do not force yourself into other individuals' spaces as consent must come from both sides. 3) We intend to enable an intersectional environment often overlooked by the wider public, so please do NOT make any assumptions about people's identities or pronouns. 4) In 2022, we have introduced a new tier system as a way to keep our space as safe as possible (and exclusive) to the Black community, especially those identifying themselves as Queer, Trans, Femme and Non-Binary people. Non-Black Allies are expected to pay more to access our events since their contribution covers the expenses of those entering the provided spaces for an ✨affordable✨ value – what does that mean? It means that special community guest lists will be available whenever an event is announced, allowing our demographic to enjoy and experience the intention behind the conceptualisation of our collective. We want to believe that those who support the cause will NOT disrespect any rules and policies in place just for the sake of getting in for a chapter value or blending into the community for whichever reason."
