TIERRA BOMBA x XOCHIMILCO

Join us for a really special Bombito fundraiser field trip to Xochimilco on Saturday October 15. The plan is to dive into this folkloric Mexican tradition…let’s bring the bomba vibe and ride these Mexican water art-cars! 🪅 🎏 For those that have been there already, this won’t be your usual trip as we will enter in the Xochimilco natural reserve where less amount of boats are allowed so it’s not super crowded with tourists and street food vendors in this area so it’s easier to enjoy the beautiful mystic views. 🛶 We we will have 2-3 boats for seating + another boat from where they serve us drinks and snacks throughout the trip. The ride from the dock to the “chinampa” is about 45 minutes. 🪴 Chinampas are floating gardens, it’s an ancient agricultural technique that it’s still widely used and it’s typical from this area. Crops feed from the surrounding freshwater growing delicious organic food, most of them supplying your favorite restaurants in the city. 👨‍🍳 We are partnering with a local chef that will cook us a simple but yummy “chinampa-to-table” lunch, everything cooked over fire wood and served in traditional clay plates. Long tables will be set by the water for us to enjoy and hang out there for a little while, after lunch we’ll ride back to the dock. 🚌 Meeting point will be in Condesa at 11am. We have our own bombito bus to take us back and forth, school style! 👩🏻‍🏫 👋🏼 This trip is open for bombitos, friends, family and bombito wanna bees, everyone is welcome! The more the merrier so feel free to share with friends. 💰As everyone already knows, we are still fundraising to cover the aftermath of the camp so I am taking this opportunity to raise funds that after covering costs will be applied to the gofundme campaign. 💸 Price per person will be $150 usd / 3000 pesos (If anyone is limited in budget let me know, I want to include everyone regardless of their capability to pay the full amount) If you are interested please join this group where I will be sending further details, for now would be great to get an idea of how many will join so I can plan, can’t wait to see everyone!
