Giovanni Jaël Jano, globally recognized as JAEL, is a dynamic Moluccan recording artist, producer, DJ, and vocalist hailing from The Netherlands. Rooted in a rich tapestry of Moluccan Folk, Gospel, Soul, and Electronic music, his musical upbringing laid the foundation for an electrifying and highly versatile artistry. JAEL’s performances transcend boundaries, seamlessly blending genres with his own productions to create an experience that is as bold as it is unforgettable. JAEL’s shows are a testament to his multifaceted talent, weaving together DJing, soulful vocals, and live instrumentation into high-energy narratives that captivate audiences worldwide. As a long-standing member of the influential LA-based label and collective Soulection, JAEL has firmly positioned himself among the vanguard of innovative artists pushing creative boundaries. His extraordinary capabilities have earned him spots on some of the world’s most iconic stages and platforms, including Bass Coast Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Lowlands Festival, Boiler Room (Amsterdam & London), Brooklyn Mirage (NYC), and O2 Academy Brixton, where he also performed as a warm-up act for Sammy Virji. With a relentless touring schedule spanning the USA, South Africa, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, JAEL has solidified his reputation as a true global powerhouse. Beyond the stage, JAEL is a respected tastemaker and curator. He hosts his annual event series “JAEL Invites,” showcasing forward-thinking artists such as Main Phase, Skeptic, Sam Gellaitry, P-Rallel, Lady Shaka, Tiffany Calver, Lamsi, Keyrah, Wantigga, Jerrau, and many more. Alongside this, JAEL hosts annual all-night-long sets across Amsterdam, London, and New York, further cementing his influence within global club culture. Adding to his accolades, JAEL hosted the acclaimed monthly radio show CAROUSEL JAEL on London’s Rinse FM (2022–2023) and returned as part of the Rinse Class of 2025 with a new monthly show. He has also been featured on prestigious platforms including BBC Radio 1’s Benji B and Tiffany Calver’s 1Xtra showcase. In 2023, Mixmag selected JAEL as one of the “Top 25 DJs Who Defined the Year.” In 2021, JAEL unveiled his debut album Half As Much, a masterful exploration of his wide-ranging influences and technical prowess. He also made waves collaborating with Juls, Wizkid, and Agent Sasco on the hit single Close To Me. Always evolving, JAEL continues to push boundaries with releases such as Nancy Junglist featuring the legendary Sister Nancy, showcasing his deep love for Electronic music, Jungle, and Drum & Bass. Most recently, JAEL released Quebra A Cama, featuring renowned Brazilian rapper MC GW, and delivered his official remix of What’s A Girl To Do by Amsterdam-based electronic legend Fatima Yamaha, further highlighting his versatility and global reach. With his EP "Motion Sickness", released in 2025, JAEL embarks on a bold new chapter, diving deeper into expansive electronic soundscapes.
