Patti Kane, like most people grew up with music in her home daily and began studying music around age 7. After some time in college, she searched and found the underground scene of New York with Larry Levan at the New York's legendary Paradise Garage. After that, she started taking DJ lessons with Deep Master Ryan, honed her craft. Taking the art of DJing with 2 Technics 1200s and a mixer, the moved from analog to digital to stay current but grounded. In 2013, she Patti created the sound that would become DJ Patti Kane House Royalty. A rich full sound, fashioned after the characteristic and name, Queen, given to her by her “brother” Kareem the Entertainer (that he still calls her to this day”. In 2019, she embarked on a journey to empower her female counterparts in the DJ world with Women on Decks and held their 1st all female DJ Summit in Harlem. The goal is to even the playing field and allow more women to grace the stage alongside their male counterparts at events that include DJs. Currently Patti runs her own her own record label, House Royalty Records, with business partner DJ Jigsaw. The goal is of the label is to have a place to release their own production with no bias or malice. The label’s mantra, “Unique thoughts welcome” is a testament to bring unique sounds and soul to the house music community and offer opportunities to those who may not otherwise be heard.
