Funkky

Sobre

Funkky is a Paris-based music producer from Khénifra, in Morocco's Middle Atlas region. He grew up surrounded by local rhythms and traditional sounds. He started playing music at 12, first as a guitarist, later forming a metalcore band with friends. He also plays loutar, a traditional Amazigh instrument that holds a central place in Middle Atlas culture. These early experiences gave him a wide musical background that still shapes his work today. As he got older, Funkky began mixing the rhythms of his heritage with electronic music. Since releasing his first tracks in 2020, he has collaborated with singers from different parts of the world and released music on respected labels like Foliage Records. Remixes of his work by Jimpster and Eric Kupper helped introduce his sound to wider audiences. Funkky is the co-founder of @orishas_collective, a project that promotes Afro House through cultural exchange, artist support and celebration of creativity. He also co-runs @altersoulmusic, an independent Moroccan label focused on Tribal, Afro, Ancestral, and Moroccan sounds. Whether on stage or in the studio, Funkky aims to create music that brings people together and carries real feeling.
