Sobre

Hyperstellar is the electronic project of Parisian composer Ruben Benabou, operating as a romantico‑sinister marionnette devoted to the sophisticated art of incompletion.
First noticed in the late 2010s by Gerald Donald (Drexciya, Dopplereffekt) for his mathematical approach to composition, Hyperstellar began a collaboration with Donald that became the cryptic Daughter Produkt. Drawing from Jewish heritage and Levantine musical traditions alongside Wagner or Satie, Hyperstellar transmutes these layers into precise pieces of calculated imperfection.

A carefully curated discography followed across respected imprints: International Deejay Gigolo Records (DJ Hell) for his debut Polaris, Zone Records (The Hacker) for sharper club‑leaning work, and Bordello a Parigi for the more romantic vein (Message To Nowhere and In For a Flash). Now a composer with Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Music, and frequently commissioned by Dior, Moncler, Pomellato, Pucci (including campaigns featuring Naomi Campbell and Demi Moore), the marionnette bridges scenic theatricality and cinema through a liminal aesthetic of controlled instability—visual and sonic elements that refuse full resolution to suspend time. On stage, Hyperstellar amplifies this tension with a deliberately off-kilter presence: costumes, masks, and ever-changing make-up looks turn each appearance into a fragmented tableau, both playful and unsettling. His “half‑drawn” pieces hold tension between future nostalgia, sad sarcasm and controlled emotion.
