As a Manchester citizen, Phonno earned his stripes at Pooku; one of the first few Rominimal parties in the city, as a credited wax slinger known for performing vinyl only and crafting sets as smooth as butter, dipping between house, breaks and electro whilst maintaining a stripped back sound. He's also a familiar face in the booth for Tamiras & Grooveflow parties. When he's not in the booth, you'll find Phonno in the studio geeking with his vast collection of analogue drum machines that create his signature sound. You'll feel his early punk/grunge influences through his productions as he is not scared of sampling obscure tracks to re-invent them for the club space. Approach with caution though, as Phonno is not shy with his big basslines and hypnotic melodies. He's recently started his own imprint, BP1 Records based on a cult collective of afterparties thrown in a secret location in Manchester. With friends from all over the globe listen in releases, from Abel Soleil aka Groovesh to MTPS, his ethos is to put out 'silly' music that will get the people moving. With overwhelming passion, he’s had the pleasure of playing alongside the likes of Ion Ludwig, Gescu, Suciu & many more over a 10 year streak.
