Maria Mendonça is a singer, songwriter and trained lawyer with a background in jazz and an emerging presence in the Portuguese music scene. She first came into the spotlight on the TV show “The Voice” with her original song “8 or 80”, and has since collaborated with artists such as João Só, Francisco Sales and Rui Pedro Pity (bassist of The Black Mamba). Her music has been featured on national radio and in TV soundtracks. She is currently working on her debut EP — an experimental project blending pop with Iberian and Brazilian influences, featuring songs entirely written and composed by herself. With a distinctive voice and an ever-evolving artistic identity, Maria Mendonça is establishing herself as one of the rising voices of contemporary Portuguese music.
