Plaisir de France is the electronic music project of French DJ, producer and composer Julien Barthe. A DJ since 1992, he has been releasing records as Plaisir de France since 1999, with his first EPs released in 2000 on Pro-Zak Trax / Barclay. Blending French Touch, club culture, French pop and electronic romanticism, Plaisir de France has developed a refined universe where the dancefloor meets songwriting. His work gives a central place to voices and collaborations, with artists such as Arnold Turboust, Bertrand Belin, Barbara Carlotti, Romain Guerret from Aline, Régina Demina, Valli, Sarah Rebecca and Alex Rossi. In 2021, the album #20 celebrated twenty years of the project with a collection of elegant, melodic and synth-driven songs, somewhere between French chanson, electro-pop and club music. Also involved in projects such as Slove and Sweetlight, with releases and remixes connected to labels including Freak n’ Chic, Turbo, Brique Rouge, Output, Skint and Surprise Records, Julien Barthe has built a distinctive path between the club, electronic pop and music for images. In 2026, Plaisir de France continues this journey with a new series of singles and collaborations, including “Le retour de l’amour” featuring Valli and Jessie Chaton, where French pop elegance meets contemporary electronic production.
