Jowee Omicil is a Haitian-Canadian multi-instrumentalist, composer, and bandleader whose music moves fluidly between jazz, gospel, Afro-Caribbean rhythm, and improvised sound. Known for his genre-defying "Social Music" philosophy, he weaves saxophone, clarinet, piano, pocket trumpet, vocals andm more into performances that feel as much like communal ritual as concert. His latest album sMiLes — a tribute to Miles Davis — is a finalist for the Prix Joséphine and continues to earn acclaim across Europe and beyond. On stage, Omicil is a magnetic presence: unpredictable, generous, and deeply rooted in the belief that music is a tool for connection and joy.
