Torü Szafar is an Australian DJ and producer renowned for his ability to merge deep grooves that sway the hips with morphing layers that bend the mind. With over 8 years of experience in the music industry, Torü has graced the stages of Australia's vibrant club nights and festivals (also formerly as part of duo - fütwerk), sharing his hypnotic rhythms and ethereal melodies. Now based in Byron Bay since 2021, Torü has been bringing his quality sounds to the area, infusing the coastal scene with his unique blend of frequencies. Torü’s sets and productions are intentional and elevating. They reflect the variety of dance music genres he’s been heavily influenced by since the age of 14. Elements of house, techno and trance can be heard and felt, with a progressive and psychedelic aesthetic. ‍ With a string of releases on various Portuguese deep techno labels, the next release coming for Torü will be on his own imprint - Zanda Rec. Expect the evolution of his sound to be even more dance floor oriented. Zanda launched publicly at the start of 2024 when hosting international artist Alfred Czital. This event series and record label acts as a platform to bridge the realms of techno and trance by hosting local and international artists in the Byron Shire for the first time. Deep, conscious, elevating dance music is what can be expected from the label. The event series has gone on to host genre-defining artists Feral, Spekki Webu, & Alfred Czital, as well as record label showcases, with more to come in the near future. Torü set off to Europe in 2025 from July to September, with a string of gigs locked in throughout Portugal. These included esteemed nightclub Gare, Porto, and Ministerium in Lisbon. Upon his return to Australia, momentum has continued to build with gigs happening regularly including supporting Spekki Webu, Innersha and Feral.
