À propos

Gradient Descent is the DJ alias of Hakob Avjyan, an Armenian-born, Washington, DC-based selector known for deep, hypnotic and groove-driven sets. His sound moves across minimal house, microhouse, deep tech, electro and leftfield electronic music, blending rolling percussion, understated melodies and subtle ethnic textures. A familiar presence in the DC and Baltimore underground, Gradient Descent has performed at Flash, BERHTA, Eighteenth Street Lounge, El Secreto de Rosita, Residents Café & Bar, Zebbie’s Garden and Baltimore’s Dark Room. His sets are built around patient progression, intimate atmosphere and music that rewards close listening as much as the dance floor.
